The headquarters of Neutrogena is based in Los Angeles. The company was founded in 1930, by Emanuel Stolaroff. At that time, it was called Natone. Emanuel Stolaroff used Natone to supply film industry salons and make-up artists with specialized cosmetics. In 1940, Natone skin care products were available for the general public. Emanuel Stolaroff imported the patented Neutrogena soap from European chemists, because he thought at the time that this soap is a priceless product which Americans can benefit from.
